Words by Anna Trapmore

Did you sleep well last night? No. I'm still a bit jet-lagged. I only got about five hours, but I'm catching up on the beach.

Who were you with at midnight? I was fast asleep, all by myself.

Who was the first person you spoke to this morning? My friends Dori and Joseph, who I'm staying with in Miami. I've known them for about 12 years. I used to have a flat here so I have a whole circle of friends. It's where I disappear to whenever I get a chance - it's my winter bolthole.

What did you dream about last night? I was in Bath - I don't know why, I haven't been to Bath for about 15 years - and I was in a limo, looking at sites on top of a big hill. Suddenly the brake went and the limo started to go backwards. Then I woke up...

What was the first thought that came into your head this morning? "I hope the beach isn't going to be too busy..."

What was the best meal you had today? Breakfast: waffles, pancakes, bacon, eggs sunny-side up and a chocolate milkshake - looking out over the ocean,

What was the most expensive thing you bought today? Factor five sun cream - I want to be brown.

What made you laugh the most today? Saturday Night Live last night.

What do you regret most about today? A cloud that just went over the sun for a second... but I'll learn to live with it.

What are you most proud about today? Probably work. When we were watching TV yesterday, a trailer came on for The Wedding Date (the film I'm in with Debra Messing). It was just funny to be sitting there with my mates, and there I was... I always wanted to make a movie.

What is the most annoying thing anyone has said or done to you today? I haven't been very annoyed in the last few days, although my flight was delayed for four hours. But considering I knew I was coming to perfect weather, I deserved to be punished!

What song can you not get out of your head at the moment? I'm actually in the middle of auditioning for Chicago, so I'm learning Billy Flynn's opening number. I'm not big on musicals, but this is one of the cooler ones - it's funny and kind of sexy. I've never sung in my life, so I've been trying to learn.

What appointments did you write in your diary today? The beach; swimming; lunch alfresco; a drink in the evening.

Have you done any exercise today? A swim in the sea. I'm going scuba diving later - if you can count that as exercise! I've got a bike, too, so I cycle everywhere.

What have you done to relax today? Lying on the beach.

What have you been reading today? An interiors magazine because I'm renovating my apartment in London. It'll probably be kind of industrial/warehouse minimalist - all concrete and wood..

What is the most domestic thing you've done today? Made a cup of tea - which IS the most domesticated thing I ever do. I can't cook. I'm terrible.

Did you meet anyone interesting today? I haven't met many new people in the last few days, just old friends - who are obviously interesting; that's why I love them. Working with Debra was interesting - she is a genius at comedy. There's a lot to learn watching her work.

How long did you spend getting ready this morning? Five minutes - I jumped in the shower and put on the clothes that were closest. I never take long getting ready. I am vain, but I'm scruffy. It doesn't take long: I've got scruffy down to a fine art.

What did you wear today? Surfer dude swimming shorts.

What were you least looking forward to about today? Going home and back to work, although that's two weeks away.

What will be the last thing you do before you get into bed? I'm not allowed to say turn off the light, am I?

What time will you probably be in bed tonight? Around midnight. I'll save the late nights for the weekend..

Was it a bad hair day or a good hair day? I've just been swimming, so it's tousled and all over the place. It's always a scruffy mess, but that's the way I like it.
